Sleek Makeup Under A Spell Palette

Monday, October 16, 2017
My local Ulta started carrying Sleek Makeup products a few months ago and I picked up a few things with some reward dollars. The palette I chose was one with a really interesting mix of colors, Under A Spell.

I absolutely love my Sleek i-Divine Dark Mattes Vol 2, but some of the other Sleek makeup that I've purchased has ended up given away/swapped. It's really a tossup. I think Under A Spell will be a palette that I pull out once in a blue moon, when I'm looking for a specific color to use.

Swatches over primer. Late afternoon sunshine, photo is a bit warm.

I lost the insert that had the shade names on it (did it even come with one?) and unlike other Sleek products, it is not printed on the back of the box. The "i-Divine" part of the name has been dropped as well.  I've read other reviews where people have said that this is exactly the same as the Enchanted i-Divine Palette, but I don't believe that to be true, because while most of the shades in Enchanted look to be the same, it has a super vivid blurple called Grand Duke that is definitely not in this palette. Instead, a meek soft purple shimmer with some opalescent shift took its place.  The pigmentation overall is not bad, the shimmery/foily shades are much more impressive than the mattes and have a more pleasant creamy feel. The rose coral in the upper row is the only satisfactory matte, like the ones in the i-Divine Dark Mattes Vol 2 that I reviewed here. The other mattes are more weakly pigmented.

The wear on these shadows is pretty good, a good 8+ hours without

For this look I used mainly the yellow gold and the matte teal.

This was a jumble of the yellow gold, the shimmery pink, the shimmery brown. Altogether it made for a bronzey kind of color scheme.

For this look I used the matte mauve, matte wine, the frosty light green (which  I never thought I would actually use) and the shimmery green.

There's quite a few colors in this palette that are pretty unique compared to shadows I already own, like that deep yellow gold and the dark shimmery evergreen, they're not common colors in my stash. These colors are fun to play with, but not shades I'd reach for regularly so the low price point for this palette is right on target.

Sleek Palettes are $12.99 at Ulta. They're coupon eligible and were on BOGO 50% when I purchased this item, at the end of the day I paid about ~$10.
