Rainshadow Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review
Thursday, December 5, 2013
Good evening!
Tonight I have a skincare item review for you. I've mentioned in the past that hyaluronic acid might be one of my favorite skincare ingredients, it is a great humectant. So when Rainshadow Labs offered to let me try their Hyaluronic Acid Serum, I was definitely on board.
Rainshadow Labs is a wholesaler and private label manufacturer of skin care, body care, fragrance and much, much more. Since this is the sample size, the packaging for my hyaluronic acid serum is nondescript but functional; a simple flip top cap upon an amber plastic bottle. I think once you see the price (a mere $3.95 for this particular size) you'll agree to look past the plain exterior and focus on the product itself.
The serum itself is a light, cool gel. It absorbs very quickly and has a light, plant/medicinal scent that immediately dissipates. It leaves my skin feeling soft and very smooth, and does not leave any heavy feeling or residue what so ever. In the morning, I find that I wake up with more supple and fresh looking skin.
Here's the ingredients, as taken from the Rainshadow Labs website:
Organic Herbal Infusion, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (botanical hyaluronic acid), Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Carrageenan Gum, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Wildcrafted Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea), Pelargonium Gravolens (Geranium Essential Oil), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin
Altogether, hyaluronic acid makes up 5% of this serum, so I think it is really suitable for those with oily skin who aren't looking for a ton of moisture, just smooth skin. Those with oily skin might want something with more HA. I use this all over my face with my JUJU Aquamoist Hyaluronic Acid Toner before hand and follow up with Vichy Nutriologie 2 cream on the drier parts of my face and just apply aloe on the oilier parts of my face.

This 2 oz bottle was more than enough for two months daily use, about a pea sized drop every night. That is an incredible bargain for a nice serum with quality ingredients for only $3.95! I highly recommend this serum for those with oily skin who are looking for a great lightweight product to improve the skin texture and elasticity. Rainshadow Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum may have a plain exterior but what is inside more than makes up for its looks.
