Base Comparisons: Various NC20-25 Foundations & Concealers
Monday, February 19, 2018
Good morning!
I thought I would post a quick comparison of the current foundations & concealers I have in my stash. I'm in between NC20-25, a very tiny slice of the complexion range, but I hope that seeing the different finishes might be useful to the majority of you who match to a different shade.
Concealers. It seems that I have a preference for Korean concealers - they're inexpensive and quite good, can you blame me? The limited shade range is a huge bummer though. I wish I could recommend stuff that comes in everyone's shade.
The A'Pieu Creamy Moist has been my go to concealer if I don't want to wear foundation. I have three shades, but prefer to mix 04 and 05 for the perfect shade. Reviewed and compared to NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer here. I like the Saem Cover Perfection Concealer in the summer, it's not as moisturizing as the A'Pieu. This Clio is a great shade match, but it's a little too emollient for regular use (compared here against Kanebo Kate stick).
What's your current favorite base products? I'm always tempted by a new concealer or foundation, feel free to give me recommendations!

Let's jump right into it, with the powders and foundations pictured above.
The two tinted powders I have are Wet'n'Wild Powder Focus and Sephora Collection 8HR Wear. Neutral Buff is slightly too beige for me, but I grabbed it because the WnW PF are always out of stock/broken at the drugstore. The Sephora Collection 8HR Compact is HG status (I'm on my... 4th one?), I love wearing it with a facial mist.
Jung Saem Mool Essential Star Cealer foundation is my steady beau at the moment. Review here. I've mixed both the concealer and foundation included in the box to swatch this shade. The VDL Perfecting Last Foundation Stick was a summer fling last year, it's a tad too light for my face in the summer when I'm tan. But the convenient stick format makes it a keeper for travel. Reviewed here.
TheOrdinary foundations are both new to me. It looks at though 1.2Y is a good match, maybe a tad dark while 1.2 YG is definitely too yellow. Come summer though, that's sadly my "tan" color.
Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation is a an old favorite. Like the JSM foundation, it photographs phenomenally (though ironically not so smooth in this swatch photo, I didn't let my arm finish drying. Sorry), and has great ingredients if you're prone to moisture loss. My skin actually feels better with the foundation on than it does without. Reviewed here (5 years ago!!)
