LE Givenchy Rouge Interdit No. 25 Marble Rouge Révélateur
Saturday, September 9, 2017
I first laid eyes on this lipstick three months ago in Shanghai. I spotted it from across the floor at JiuGuang Department Store and made a beeline for the Givenchy counter where it was on display. I found it pretty much irresistible. A red and black lipstick swirled together into one color? Couldn't walk away from Rouge Interdit No. 25 Marble Rouge Revelateur.
Luckily while this shade is limited edition, it's not exclusive to any region.
It's part No. 13, a red shade and Noir Révélateur, the color changing black shade.
Mine's not nearly as intricately swirled as some of the others that I've seen. My lipstick looks like that project in kindergarten where you melted together a bunch of Crayolas.
I don't have very many other reds close to this shade. Left to right: NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Burning Love, Bite Beauty Pomegranate High Impact Pencil, Givenchy Rouge Interdit No. 25, Shiseido Lacquer Rouge 607.
Featuring: Very Helpful Cat.
Cool morning light. Heavily applied.
I love the formula though, for a sheer-er lipstick. It absolutely hugs the lips and feels so darn comfortable. I'm not crazy about the scent - like blackcurrant and violets? But the smooth, almost gel like feel of the lipstick is really easy to wear. It's lightly staining so it fades to this beautiful soft, even tint.
By mid afternoon, fades to this balmy, almost glossy red tint.
Givenchy Rouge Interdit lipsticks are $34. No. 25 Rouge Révélateur is LE and can be purchased from Sephora, Saks Fifth Ave (their online ordering is horrendous, would not recommend), Barneys.
No regrets! For me a really comfortable lipstick experience is a win even when the color isn't quite as warm as I hoped it would be.
