PureHeal's by Nature Village Centella 90 Ampoule
Thursday, June 22, 2017
I've been trying to find alternatives to some of my favorite products, and one item that I finished recently but hadn't yet repurchased was my bottle of Dr Dennis Gross Clinical Concentrate Radiance Booster. Though marketed as some sort of exfoliating youth serum, I found it to be marvelous at reducing breakouts, both in terms of redness and blemish size, when applied overnight. Now the PureHeals Centella 90 Ampoule is not super close ingredients wise, but I have found its effects on the skin to be similar.
Somewhere down the rabbit hole of ingredient reading, I fell in love with the idea of centella asiatica products. This was one of my first, aside from the centella water that plays a minor role in my Manyo Factory Clearskin Toner and the centella that's about four ingredients down in the list for the Dr Dennis Radiance Booster.
I picked this PureHeal's Centella 90 Ampoule because centella extract (not leaf water, not centella water) was the top ingredient. Also I was pretty drawn to the beautiful glass with the green gradient. It's a gorgeous bottle to have in my medicine cabinet, all the other bottles are quite jealous.
It's a runny clear gel that applies with the slightest cooling sensation that feels really refreshing.
It absorbs quite quickly and leaves no residual film on the surface of the face. I find myself applying it quite sparingly directly to the areas that need it the most, so a small pea size at most. This is my third month of having this ampoule and it should definitely last me the rest of 2017.
I use this around that time of the month when I tend to get a few breakouts here and there. Also some of my food allergies have been leaving some temporary hives and this ampoule really relieves most of the redness that those hives bring.
The smell is faintly herbal, like ultra diluted tea tree oil. In my ever expanding skin care routine, I apply this after washing my face and applying a toner. Within 20 minutes, I can spot the reduction in redness and/or pimple size. The last thing that worked so immediately was one of those sulfur ointments but that didn't smell nearly as pleasant as this cooling ampoule.
My success with this centella heavy product lead me to both trying other centella asiatica products and exploring other PureHeal's offerings.
I purchased this 50mL bottle of the Centella 90 Ampoule from eBay for $28. Note that when pricing out this ampoule that it also comes in a 30mL, I almost made the mistake of ordering that size for $22. My favorite kbeauty stockist SweetCorea also carries the 50mL for $31.
