50 Words or Less, Vol. VIII: More Fall Empties
Monday, November 21, 2016
Recently I was talking to my pal Kate about this series; where I talk about products that I was either lukewarm about or just did not find super interesting, and it tickled me to find that these that I find really hard to write are well received.
See, to me it's like serving up leftovers to friends who are over at my place - I'm slightly mortified. It's easy to talk about things that I love or hate, it's harder to blog about the Mehs of the cosmetic world.
Anyways, today's group of slightly worth mentioning products...
Too Cool For School Milk Tint in Orange
Water based lipstain. I like the idea of this product but when it dries it darkens into a definite pink-red, not coral-pink or anything orange at all. My lips also don't take in this product very evenly.
Redken Extreme Strength Builder Plus
This mask promised hair fortification, and you know what? I did have less breakage since I've started using this mask. Jar + wet hands+ runny texture is not an ideal combination for the shower, I'd be happier with a tube (or less watery product). Strong scent. Would repurchase.
Alterna Bamboo Kendi Dry Oil Mist*
Actually I love this, I just don't have many words to string together about it. Lightweight, very dry feeling siliconey mist. Winning combination to add shine to/heat protect hair that is very fine and gets oily easily. (mini from Glossybox)
Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer
Excellent primer, actually...but... now this is embarrassing, it took me way too long (3 months) to realize that I was allergic to something in it. Itchy lids. Used it up on arm swatches for blog.
Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal in Medium/Deep
I used this to darken my foundation in the summer and as a cream contouring shade. It did that... adequately.
That's it for this bunch. I'm quite happy with how many products I've been using up and tossing lately. If you're following me on IG, you might have seen the four bottles of foundation that I threw away (MUFE doesn't even make HD anymore, that's how old some of those foundations were).
Some of the biggest shopping days are in the week ahead, are you planning any beauty buys?

Perfect size, shape, resiliency.... but cut tipped bristles feel rough and scratchy. $35 too. It's not the worst but it's highly unsatisfactory for the price.
