Review: KBShimmer Nail Vinyl Decals
Monday, July 14, 2014
Hi folks!
A few weeks ago KBShimmer launched their line of Nail Vinyls, decals made from adhesive backed vinyl that can be used for quick and easy nail art. I received a sample variety pack for review and was able to try them out. This is actually my first time using any sort of nail vinyl sticker product. I guess I just never really jumped on the chevron/zig zag trend!
Each of the full sized sheet comes with 100+ "lines" of vinyl, so at $5 per sheet you'll really get a lot of manicures out of the stickers. I have to admit, vinyl is SO much easier to work with compared to nail tape or Scotch tape. I'm a convert now.
For this particular manicure, I'm using the pink "Zig Zag" design. Directions say to tone down the stickiness of the adhesive back by lightly touching the back to your hand to pick up trace amounts of oil and to also make sure that your nails are quite dry before applying them. I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base white color, then Seche Vite to quickly dry it.
I then applied the Nail Vinyls to my dry nail using a fine pair of tweezers. Actually my nails were narrow enough that I could cut each strip in two and be a little more stingy with the vinyl. I then sponged on a gradient of Le Chat Dare to Wear Moon River and Golden Boy-Friend. As soon as I was done with the gradient, I removed the decals, creating really nice crisp lines. I then topped off the entire manicure with more top coat.
That's just one manicure with the "Zig Zag" design. I'll definitely be creating more manicures with the other stickers. This is definitely a product I'd buy because I like that KBShimmer offers $1 shipping for just Nail Vinyl orders. These vinyls are easy to use and save you a lot of time (compared to cutting out tape yourself).
KBShimmer Nail Vinyls can be purchased here. I'm definitely going to get the Aztec pack next time!
Have you tried any of these vinyl type products yet, from any brand?
