A Few Laura Mercier Eye Colours
Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Good evening!
I've professed my love of Laura Mercier Eye Colour shadows many times now so it shouldn't surprise anyone that I recently bought a few more shades. As it so happened, I picked one Matte, and two Luster finishes. I had been eyeing Topaz for a while as well as Black Plum and Sherazade just happened to jump in my cart.
Topaz. Luster finish. It's a high sheen taupe with a satin finish and micro sparkle.
Sherazade. Sateen finish. A high sheen olive green with micro sparkles.
Matte Plum. Matte finish. A dusty matte aubergine.
From left to right: Topaz, Sherazade and Black Plum. Swatches are over bare skin.
The pigmentation on all three was really quite good. Even though Topaz and Sherazade are both Lusters, Topaz is a bit softer and more buttery though Sherazade is by no means rough. Black Plum is also excellent, not overly dry like some mattes get, also that stellar Laura Mercier fine milled texture.
I haven't used Sherazade extensively yet, but here is Topaz and Black Plum.
I used:
Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Powder in Granite, Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Genius
Eyes: LORAC Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, Laura Mercier Eye Colours (Beige, Topaz, Fresco, Black Plum), Rock & Republic Fatalistic, La Femme Eye Liner Sealer, Lancome Definicils mascara
I actually used only one brush for most of the eye. Other than a separate brush for brows and eyeliner, I used only a Giorgio Armani Large Eye Contour Brush to highlight brow, blend out the crease with Fresco, sweep Topaz all over and deepen the crease with Black Plum. It really is an excellent brush.
Laura Mercier Eye Colour shadows are $23 each and available from stores such as Sephora and like Nordstrom.
Have any favorite LM eye shades I should take a closer look at? I'm not fond of baked shadows but Black Karat looks to be lovely.
