Anastasia Brow Powder Duo Review
Monday, December 2, 2013
I recently went back to a darker hair color (more in the natural range as opposed to the mocha color I've had for the last year) so I decided to try out a different brow product in a darker, cooler shade. I had previously been using NARS Bali to fill in my brows for roughly two, maybe even three years. I ordered one of the newer shades of Anastasia Brow Powder Duos, Granite.
The duo comes in a single cake in a very tiny compact. It looks very pretty with the rose gold "A" stylized on the cover and contains a mirror on the inside.
I had swatched most of the shades in store before ordering. Medium Brown was nice and cool but seemed too light. Brunette and Ebony were darker but warmer. I decided to go with Granite even though it is really dark but with a very light hand to compensate.
The powder is very finely milled and highly pigmented, I barely touch my brush to the cake to pick up the perfect amount. That was one thing I had disliked with previous brow powders I had used (the most recent that comes to mind is NYX), the powder didn't apply as nicely due to the more grainy texture and had a tendency to become hardened in the pan. My previous post on brows covered what other products I used quite extensively, so I'll just leave it at that.
Priced at $23 it certainly isn't the cheapest brow product out there, but I was happy with it. The most important thing to me was getting the undertone right and Granite hit that mark.
