KareCo Professional Brushes: Review and Pictures

Friday, October 4, 2013

Hello!

One of the brands that I learned about over the summer at CosmoProf North America was KareCo, a company that makes professional quality brushes, shears and other salon tools. I was sent three of their brushes and after a few months of vigorous use, I'm more than ready to share my thoughts!

First up we have the Oval Vent. One side of the oval brush has nylon heat resistant ball tipped bristles while the other side has boar bristles. It's very sturdy feeling but not too hefty. It took me a while to get the hang of using this brush to blow dry as I've spent years accustomed to using a round brush but when I did, this brush proved to be invaluable. I use the nylon side to lift locks to add volume to the root and the bristle side to smooth hair and eliminate frizz while blow drying. It's very handy for traveling because I can definitely make do with just this one brush instead of bringing a paddle brushes and separate round brush like I usually do.

Small Thermal. This one was my favorite! I've used upwards of 10 round brushes in the last few years but this one beats them all. The best feature of this brush is the vent tip, many brushes have a closed end that doesn't allow air to fully circulate. You would not believe how fast hair dries and the soft curl you can form with this brush! On a few of my other brushes hair also tends to snag in the gap between the handle and the barrel but not in this case. This brush is very well made, I definitely find myself preferring it to my Cricket, Olivia Garden and CHI round brushes.

Tunnel Vent Brush. A nylon brush with nine rows of ball tipped bristles. The balls don't snag though, which is a nice feature. As you can see the brush can slide out for easy cleaning. Good for untangling and smoothing down hair.

All three brushes were very well made, definitely quality materials and construction. I was really happy to hear that you should soon be able to find this professional line of brushes at your local Walmart, with suggested retail pricing of $12.97 each. I will for sure be picking up the Medium and perhaps even the Large Thermal Round brushes when I see them!

Products featured were sent to me for review. For additional information, please refer to my Disclosure Policy.
