Essence Vintage District LE Shopping @ Portobello Road Gel Eyeliner Review + EOTD
Sunday, April 7, 2013
Hi folks!
So I've pretty much been completely enamored with the package Deborah from Love Varnish, Chocolate and More... which was completely filled with awesome goodies including this gel eyeliner from Essence. I've seen pictures of the Vintage District collection but have never seen any of the products in person, so I'm thrilled to get this bright turquoise liner!
This is the second Essence Gel Eyeliner I've tried. The first was a few years ago, I remember liking the liner (especially for the price) but unfortunately I remember it drying out pretty fast despite the glass jar. I store this one with the plumbing tape method and also inside a small plastic bag, upside down (I'm really not taking chances, hah!) This one is darker in the jar than it is on skin, I love how bright it actually is.
Pigmentation is pretty good, as you can see. It's not completely opaque in one pass, so I did another after the first dried for both these swatches and on my eye. I had no problems with staining or it migrating but I wore it on top of NARS Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base. This liner also comes with a little brush which isn't too bad! However I do prefer using my own eyeliner brush (an 1/8th angled artist's brush) but the accompanying brush makes a pretty good lip brush in a pinch.
I used:
Brows: NARS Bali shadow, NYX Brow Shaper
Eyes: NARS Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base, Milani Grandissimo mascara, Essence Volumizing Lash Powder, Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts, Laura Mercier Chocolate and Laura Mercier Coffee Ground
Thank you so much, Deborah!
If I remember correctly, Essence Gel Eyeliners are $2.99 here in the US. But don't quote me on that. Have you seen the Essence Vintage District collection at all? How do you feel about Essence products in general?
